Paramraj Singh Umranangal

PS Umranangal is a high-ranking police officer from a well-known political family in Punjab. During the difficult times of militancy in Punjab, his family worked hard to keep the nation united. Even though Sardar Jiwan Singh Umranangal used to be a legislator and minister for the Akali party, during the time of militancy in Punjab, he was one of the few brave people who spoke out against Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale and his followers. They had taken control of the Golden Temple and were doing things that went against the interests of the country.

Over the years IPS Umranangal was recognized several times for his courage and commitment to the nation and was nominated twice for the president’s medal.
