To reign supreme village culture Mela Umranangal Da is organized every year in the fond memory of former Revenue Minister, Late Jathedar Jiwan Singh Umranangal, his son Shaheed Sukhdev Singh Umranangal, and Sampooran Kaur, who lost their lives in safeguarding the peace of Punjab during the 1984 riots.
The mela is a gathering of people where everyone celebrate independence and joy promoting the richness of the cultural heritage and games of Punjab.
Former IG Paramraj Singh Umranangal organizes the occasion to honor the kin of civil and police martyrs every year. There are several activities like music performances by Punjabi singers, sports, stunts, and other celebrations.
The mela is held at village Umranangal, near Beas district in Amritsar.
